New in my house.

Every now and then I steal my own ideas for myself. Like when you buy something for someone, but end up keeping it for yourself. So it goes with the new wallpaper wall in the dining room.

Lashing out.

God gave me many gifts and attributes, of which I am very thankful. Unfortunately, killer lashes were not in that list. So for most of my adult life I have tried all brands of mascara (and lots of it) to make up for this deficiency. Which my friend and I term, embryolash.

Well, a few months ago, I decided to try lash extensions, available at lots of salons. To make a long story short, I have come from caterpillar eyes, for 40$ a pop, to soft, wispy eyes from my local Walgreens, 3.99$ They are very easy to apply. And I never need mascara, at least not gobs of it. Yes they fall off and yes they are fake, but all in all, they save time and I feel prettier. And at this point in my life, those two are golden with me. :)

Press from the Finger House

My client and good buddy Becky's house was in the Autumn issue of New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles on newsstands now. Written by Lee Cutrone and shot by Sara Essex, who shot my house for Met Home years ago. I tease that my name was not mentioned enough. (It is in abundance;) A really fun project and a great team effort. I really appreciate her support. Just a very cool family, friend and home.

Isaac zig zag.

We had planned to be away at the beach for Labor Day weekend with Josh's family. Isaac knocked out our power on Tuesday night and by Thursday, the kids and I had had enough. We headed out to Pensacola for the night. We were planning on meeting the Houston Mayer's on Friday. Josh stayed to work, but joined us on Friday. Pete and Linda stayed home, in order to deal with Isaac issues. They were missed.

Here's our hotel room from the balcony overlooking the beach, which included A/C, room service and Saints game. It was one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in ;)

The house was not the greatest, so we made do and hung at the beach a lot.

Isaac brought up tons of great shells. We did lots of searching.

The fishing was great. There were little minnows swimming every where and the big fish were feeding. Everyone got it on it. Especially the birds.

Speaking of birds. Eric got one caught in his casting line and injured him. The kids insisted on bringing him (Rocket) to the animal shelter to rehab. Hopefully he is now among his peeps and flying high.

Some fish were caught by human Mayers. Although I don't know if this one is quite human here. Kissy, kissy.

Or this one either.

Mose caught a bunch of cats.

It was just a great time in the sun with family. The Mayer boys and their girls.

Cuz luv.

Puzzle's done!!

Just beautiful. Happy, happy.
