Mose lost a front tooth. Just in time for Halloween...

Who Dat boy and mom.

Well, it was fun. But, a heart-breaker in the Dome. Reggie made it worth our while and Mose made it special for me.

Aspen mountain escape

Josh and I took a quick trip to Aspen, CO this weekend to research venues for an AMIN conference he is planning in June. The Aspen trees were turning yellow and gold. A stunning show. An unexpected treat. I am a lucky woman.

Rosh Hashanah

Happy New Year. A very sweet Jewish holiday. Celebrated with apple and honey. We threw away all our sins (via bread) in the lagoon at Audubon Park.
The Finger's lovely, apple and honey dessert table.

Mitzvah day at the Second Harvest Food Bank

We all went out to SH to pack "family boxes" for hurricane victims. It was a great experience, organized by Temple Sinai. I do, however, recommend having lunch beforehand:)

Prospect 1 in the lower 9

I had the unique opportunity to volunteer some time today helping a Prospect 1 artist/sculptor named Nari. Nari is Jamaican born, living in New York's Harlem and teaching at Hunter College. I met him today at a church on Flood St. called the Battle Ground Baptist Church. Not a functioning place of worship at this time. I spent most of my time on a ladder painting squiggle lines on mirror. Which I really enjoyed. Nari's sculpture is entitled "Diamond Gym" and as you can see in the photo is a large, metal diamond frame with old workout equipment suspended inside. There will be lights and music and, of course the mirrors with squiggly lines all around it. It is going to be an awesome exhibit site. It was a great experience and I look forward to seeing it (and possibly helping him again) when it opens on October 30.

As I drove around the lower 9 today, I was awestruck by the what is and is not being done there. I was extremely saddened by the loss that still remains and then totally thrilled by the super-mod-green Make It Right houses being built. For me, just another wonderful ride on the roller coaster that is New Orleans. Some pics from my cultural excursion.
